Since its establishment in 1967, our school has journeyed through 57 years of transformation, growth, and unwavering dedication to education. From the humble beginnings at the Mills Street community hall to the completion of our state-of-the-art school building in 2022, each milestone reflects our commitment to promoting the Greek language and cultural heritage.
Today, the Greek Orthodox Community School of Hobsons Bay stands as an educational hub for Hellenism in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs. Our modern facilities and innovative teaching methods ensure a high-quality learning experience, now offered entirely free of charge to all our students. Our classrooms are equipped with the latest teaching tools to create an interactive and engaging learning environment, while our curriculum follows VCAA guidelines, offering comprehensive education from Preschool to VCE levels.
Our philosophy goes beyond teaching the Greek language. Every major celebration or historical milestone turns our school into a dynamic cultural workshop. Through history, mythology, literature, dance, and even cooking, students not only learn but experience the richness of their heritage.
The impressive achievements of our first VCE graduates in 2023 demonstrate that vision and dedication lead to meaningful results. Guided by a team of experienced and passionate educators from Australia and Greece, we work tirelessly to ignite in our students a love for all things Greek.
